Life is not easy but life is much easier after yoga practice" -David Swenson

Overview

The full immersion will take place at Yoga Shala of San Antonio.

The Ashtanga program is open to students who are serious about learning the discipline of Ashtanga Yoga, and who have been practicing yoga consistently for a minimum of six months.

We consider the yoga path a lifelong journey of learning. You will complete this course prepared with firm foundations to continue the studies of this ancient path.

Why yoga? Or better, what for? To be able to sustain a practice through dificulties, sickness, health and loss, we have to be willing to walk the path to understand the deep benefits of the practice and become the master of your own self.
Why Yoga Shala? We believe in the tradition of passing down true, deeply rooted knowledge and experience directly from the source of the lineage (Parampara). Our Shala was established in 2008 after many years of practice, dedication and studies with master teachers like Tim Miller, David Swenson and eventually Paramaguru Sharath Jois. Since then our teachers have been making many trips to Mysore, India to continue and deepen their studies. We are proud of our senior teacher and founder Ana Hollis, for being the only authorized teacher in San Antonio. You'll experience and become a part of a community of dedicated loving teachers and practitioners. The support of a community is very important during this journey.

Our goal is to fully prepare students in the Ashtanga Yoga method and eventually make the journey to Mysore, India to study with Sharath Jois, only him & Sharath Yoga Center, can grant you an official authorization to teach Ashtanga Yoga. It is a prerequisite to have studied with an authorized teacher for a minimum of 2 months, in order to be accepted to study with Sharath Jois. We want to inspire our students to maybe someday make the journey to India.
