Class Description


All of our classes are carefully thought out and based on authentic ancient yoga tradition.
  • Level 0-1 Trying Yoga for the first time. Everyone is welcome! Ages 13 & up, all sizes and body types.
  • Level 1 Have attended a couple of yoga classes and can follow and move through the Sun Salutations.
  • Level 2 Feel comfortable synchronizing your breath & movement and can follow the sequence up to some of the seated postures. Work on backbending and through the closing sequence & build up to headstand.
  • Level 3 Can comfortably move through the Ashtanga Primary Series and closing sequence including backbends & headstand.
  • Level 4 Practicing at least 3 years, proficient with Ashtanga Primary Series and familiar with Intermediate.

Yoga Ettiquete

Welcome to Yoga Shala of San Antonio! Just a few reminders before your first class:
  • Be on time, please arrive at least 15 mins prior to your first class otherwise 5-10 mins. is sufficient. This will give you time to take care of any payments, get ready and settle in.
  • Be comfortable, wear appropriate yoga clothes that let you move freely; no shoes.
  • Leave phones (on silent), shoes and bags outside the room on the shelves and baskets provided.
  • Bring only your mat and towel inside the yoga room (only drink water before or after class)
  • Drink water one hour prior to practice and refrain from eating 2 hrs before.
  • Personal hygiene is an integral part of practicing yoga. Please ensure that you and your gear are clean.
  • Please try to keep voices low and observe silence in the yoga room.
  • Be patient, start where you are, use what you have and do what you can.
  • Please give your body time to absorb the benefits of the practice, relax and recover, stay for savasana (final relaxation)
